Additional Comments

When everything lines up, TalkTalk broadband provides a solid fibre broadband connection. Many customers get stable speeds that suit everyday needs, and the service is simple to set up in most homes. Because TalkTalk uses multiple underlying networks including Openreach and several full fibre partners, you may find good availability even in places where other providers are limited. For casual streaming, schoolwork, online shopping and TV catch up, it usually does the job.

That said, there are a few things worth keeping in mind. The biggest potential issue is customer service. Reviews often mention long wait times, support that can feel hit and miss and issues taking longer than expected to sort. TalkTalk’s ratings for reliability and support tend to sit below some of the other major providers. If you are happy with a lower cost option and only need the basics to run smoothly most of the time, it can work well enough. If you work from home, rely heavily on your connection or you cannot afford interruptions, you may want to compare other options first.

It is also sensible to check what happens when your contract ends. TalkTalk broadband is known for promoting attractive starter prices, but once your initial deal finishes the cost can rise. Taking a moment to understand your renewal rate and any price promise is a good idea. Take a look at our best broadband deals page for discounts. As always, the speed you sign up for refers to the line into your home. What you actually experience depends on Wi-Fi strength, the layout of your property and the quality of your equipment. Larger houses or those with thick walls may need stronger internal Wi-Fi setups to get the best from the broadband connection.

TalkTalk broadband suits people who want a simple broadband option at a fair price and do not need the highest level of support. It offers good value on the right deal and can handle the normal mix of streaming, browsing and work tasks for most homes. If you prefer a provider with stronger satisfaction scores or guaranteed support response times, then it is worth exploring alternatives. But for many households looking for a budget friendly fibre broadband service without too much fuss, TalkTalk broadband remains a sensible choice.

A huge drop in speeds again this month, disappointing after much better performance in February. Currently lucky if I get 16 mb/s,but at busy times drops to single figures! I should be getting "up to" 36 mb/s as I am on Fibre. Put simply I am not getting what I am paying for and am starting to look around for an alternative ISP..

I have been with TT since the days of dial-up download speeds of 500kBps. Stayed with their ADSL2 service which over the years achieved 8MBps. About 15 months ago I took the plunge, ditched the copper cable and went for Fibre to the Cabinet. I am around 300m from the BT green cabinet and so my download speed on multi strands is around 27Mbps and single connection - for Netflix, is mostly in the range 20 to 23Mbps depending on the time of day. It is very reliable, had to call for help last summer when my download speed dropped to 10Mbps, but Openreach fitted me a new master box for free and I have not dropped the connection since. It started off costing £27 per month including line rental, but they dropped the price to £22 shortly afterwards. I think it is great value and provides a reliable hassle-free service. The phone deal is great too.

We all know that Openreach is responsible for 99% of fibre lines, but you cant talk to Openreach so your only contact is the provider. In our case its TalkTalk. If only they would talk, its now a texting support, ive had more help from the TalkTalk community. Between us both there was over 180 text messages, all to do with one slowing fibre line.

I do not have or want fibre but have fast broadband which is a constant 17 mbps and has been for many months. This is more than adequate for wifi connectability in the my home.

extremely unhappy with the chat line almost as bad as phone contacts, the operators do not understand my Scottish accent and I do not understand their foreign accents!!. The last chat line serssion was bad as I had to repeat myself with identifier details and I do not believe that my wish has been carried out.

I am continuing to "negotiate" my monthly Bill and I have noticed the BBand speed has dropped off lately and I also have to re-load screens.

TalkTalk is one of these companies that is doing just the opposite, we now have Text Support, Like we have time to spend trying to explain faults that are likely Line problems to a person that you just know is dealing with 8 other customers at the same time, and to add insult to injury they don't even read completely that which you have just written. Time to move on if that's all the support we are going to get.

They provide a good broadband speed and reasonable reliability, but they have recently doubled my monthly cost - which I am fighting,as they are offering new customers, less than I was paying before the increase!!!
