Additional Comments

The company offers a full range of broadband services, from standard fibre (FTTC) to full-fibre (FTTP) packages that deliver ultrafast speeds. BT’s newer Full Fibre plans provide a direct fibre connection to your home, giving download speeds up to 900 Mbps and upload speeds up to 110 Mbps. These are ideal for larger households, home offices, or anyone who regularly streams, games, or downloads large files. Even the standard fibre plans offer decent performance, with average speeds ranging from 36 Mbps to 74 Mbps.

One of BT’s key strengths is reliability. Its network is well-established and regularly maintained, with nationwide customer support available 24/7. The Smart Hub 2 router that comes with BT’s packages is designed to deliver strong Wi-Fi coverage throughout your home, and you can add Wi-Fi discs to eliminate dead spots if needed. BT also includes access to a huge network of public Wi-Fi hotspots across the UK, which can be useful when you’re on the move.

Customer service has improved in recent years, with BT now offering UK and Ireland-based call centres and online chat support. The MyBT app also makes it easy to check your connection status, run speed tests, or manage your account.

Overall, BT is a safe and dependable choice for broadband. It offers wide availability, strong performance, and a good balance of speed and service. While it might not be the cheapest option, BT’s experience, reliability, and extras make it a solid pick for households that want a well-supported, nationwide provider they can count on. I am quite close to my green pillar which is also near to the exchange so get good speeds. I find my connection very reliable. However, I am not at all pleased with the price rise which has put £5:45 on my monthly bill!

My Broadband contract with BT came up for renewal this month. The person I spoke to in BT was very helpful. Instead of the inflation increase I was expecting (around 14%) I came away with a similar reduction!!and bot only that but an increase in Broadband speed also. Well done BT!!

I have been using BT for a couple of decades now, the last five years or so with FTTP. Overall the technical quality of the service has been good, FTTP being almost 100% reliable - in contrast to the slow ADSL I had previously. I have little need to use any kind of Tech Support, but when I do need it, it has proven cumbersome & inefficient. Owing to the poor quality of Support & rapidly increasing prices for both the baseline service & BT Sport, which I primarily use for MotoGP, I looked around and decided to switch to Zen. This is a much more flexible & cheaper option and BT should take note that ther service is no-longer good enough.

We have a new fibre connection which is delivering 90mb download and 30mb upload consistently. Unfortunately we don’t have digital telephone. Disappointed at the recently notified price increase and will consider changing at the end of the contract.
