BDUK publishes June 2026 progress update for Project Gigabit contracts

Map of English and Welsh Project Gigabit contract areas

The monthly detail for the progress on the Project Gigabit contracts that Building Digital UK (BDUK) directly administers has now been published.

The number of premises delivered as of June 2026 stands at 271,460 out of a total of 839,340 premises that are in in a Project Gigabit area. This is an increase of 14,780 compared to the previous report in May 2026.

We have updated our broadband maps which shows the areas encompassed by the various contracts, and each area includes the history from all the BDUK progress updates. This allows people to see how things are progressing.

The detail shows that in the last month, BDUK has seen the number of premises delivered under the contract with CityFibre increase by 260 in Norfolk.

Oddly the contract for Cambridgeshire has seen the number reported go down from 10,850 to 10,840 in the last month, and this is after a number of addresses surfacing with CityFibre full fibre availability in lot 5 which is Cambridgeshire and adjacent areas. This may just be down to timing for when CityFibre supplied data to BDUK, or it could be auditing of other areas in the same contract has balanced out the additions.
