Opensignal mobile experience report released

Opensignal Logo

Opensignal has released its report on mobile experience covering the period 1st October – 29th December 2025. There are a few key headlines that Opensignal is announcing based on its testing during this period:

  • EE has the highest reliability and most consistent quality
  • EE has the fastest overall speeds
  • Three wins in 5G speeds
  • EE provides the best on-demand streaming and gaming experience
  • EE has the highest ‘Time on 5G’ and the strongest 5G coverage
  • O2 has the highest overall coverage

For the report, the company is treating Vodafone and Three as separate companies, as the two entities still market services separately, and the network is still under integration, so it will take some time until the services available from both brands are identical. One interesting aspect to this is that O2 is believed to operate the largest 5G SA network, available to over 70% of the population, but EE provide the highest amount of time on 5G. This means that whilst EE’s 5G SA coverage is lower, its traditional 5G network provides a larger coverage. It would be useful if Opensignal could track “Time on 5G SA” as 5G SA can provide a much better service than non-standalone 5G using a 4G backhaul.
