It is unclear exactly how wide spread the problems are with the EE mobile service, which is also affecting those using BT mobile.
Reports of problems for EE started to appear at around 11am and peaked at 2pm based on the timeline that downdetector is showing.
The BBC website is reporting the problem as affecting thousands, but with millions of EE mobile customers it could well be a lot more.
It appears that if you have an EE mobile you can make outbound calls, but incoming calls do not reach you. This suggests that just maybe the issue is with inbound call routing rather than an issue at a limited number of cell towers.
We will try and keep an eye out for a status update from EE or BT announcing the problem is resolved.
Update 9:35pm EE on X posted at 9:20pm saying “Following a technical fault impacting voice services on our network earlier today, we have now resolved the problem and the service is running as normal. We sincerely apologise and recognise the inconvenience this may have caused“.

We’ve seen loads of problems – we’re a small MSP based in Essex – with clients telling us they’ve had problems both ringing out to mobiles, and receiving calls from mobiles. Most of the reports have been on the EE or Vodafone networks.

I’m not sure if this is pure coincidence or not, but gf’s mobile on Lebara/Vodafone is showing the same problem today, she can phone out, but can only receive calls on WiFi calling.
As remembered, there was a similar problem a couple of years ago, numbers that had been ported where not being routed correctly.
Land line phone rings out to mobile and receives ring tone from a mobile phone but there is no verbal communication, no sound at all

I checked it and mine is working fine. Did you restart your phone just in case it forced a resync of some kind?

1p to and from VodaFone, intermittent problems whilst from mast, no problems when WiFi calling.
