Fintona gains full fibre from Fibrus

Another village in Northern Ireland has access to FTTP courtesy of Fibrus. This along with other changes in Northern Ireland takes the nation to 71.46% and Gigabit coverage is higher at 76.75% of premises.

The village is also on the Openreach Fibre Town/Villages roll-out list but as yet no obvious Openreach in village centre.

  1. I live in Fintona myself, Fibrus seem to have went live here approx. 2 weeks ago. The village has been flyer’d, salesmen knocking on doors & posters put up to advertise the service, as well as a report from a local newspaper saying that Fibrus is not only now available from Fintona, but also Castlederg.

Funnily enough, a few days ago I got an email from Openreach telling me that I can now order “Full Fibre” broadband through their network. Coincidence! Currently have a very noisy VDSL2 line.

  2. Will look at Castlederg later, can see some Openreach FTTP in Fintona now too
