Virgin Media O2 and its nexfibre roll-out mean Virgin Media O2 remains the largest Gigabit retailer in terms of homes services serviceable and that might remain the case for many years

We believe it is fair to say if the broader economy was booming, the full fibre new entrants would not be looking at cutting operating costs, and investors might be willing to give longer before closing their wallets.

Northern Ireland at the start of April was showing 90.3% FTTP coverage and largely due to the Fibrus roll-out this has jumped to 91.8%. April has seen has find 30,000 premises passed by Fibrus full fibre in Northern Ireland and North West England.

6G Internet is rolling out a fixed wireless service in the North West, though it seems to make claims of sending a full fibre signal over a wireless network which makes no sense.

The latest FTTP network added to our maps is Connect Fibre with their roll-out in Edwinstowe, Nottinghamshire.

YouFibre has just hit its 30,000 customer milestone and as this was being passed it has connected its first customer in Derry/Londonderry. This means the FTTP service has customers in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

It appears Zybre which recently acquired Air Broadband may be up for sale. A statement published on the company's website suggests they are in "negotiations with Home Telecom part of the TalkTalk group" although it is not clear exactly what this means.

There have been widespread reports this morning of outages on the Vodafone fixed broadband network from about 08:15 affecting both Openreach and Cityfibre-based services, although our broadband quality monitor does confirm it was quite limited as most of our sensors have not suggested any significant packet loss.

It appears the alt-net Trooli has been acquired by a French investment bank, although news not the acquisition appears non-existent.

Chelmsford looks to be the latest area of England where Lit Fibre is rolling out its FTTP service.
