Everyday brings new bits of Openreach to our database and maps but Woodley has gone from close to zero to widely available in the last week.

The race to abandon the ageing telephone network before the hardware running it breaks for one final time is heating up.

The 5th December 2021 was the busiest day of the year traffic wise over the Openreach network, with 27th and 28th taking 3rd and 2nd place respectively.

We continue to get closer to the leading edge of the Openreach full fibre roll-out with some 62,722 premises found every week in the last month.

We presume when Openreach says it has reached six million homes they really mean premises, since their GEA-FTTP service is also available to a number of businesses.

The old record of 302,000 premises in a month still stands, but this month was still the second highest monthly increase we've seen.

Our previous record for the amount of Openreach FTTP found in any month was 219,000 and with the new figure of 302,074 premises this record has been smashed.

Residents of Clitheroe will probably have noticed the wave of Openreach and contractors vans over the last few months which means full fibre is available to a large part of the town.

After a slow month previously for the Openreach FTTP roll-out the pace seems to have picked up again and our tracking has just broke the 5 million premises mark too.

The Openreach offer to waive connection charges on VDSL2 services is welcome but appears to fall short of offering the same for FTTP.
