Uptime Allies (The Cent.re Group)

Summary

Uptime Allies is a Newcastle-based ISP, founded in 2023, that provides broadband, phone and IT services to homes and small businesses across the North East and beyond. It is a brand of The Cent.re Group (TCG) offering full fibre services via OFNL, Full Fibre, ITS and Zen Wholesale. Rather than building its own physical network from scratch, the company connects customers using several different full fibre networks, including OFNL, FullFibre, Openreach and CityFibre, picking whichever is available at a given address. It's a small, independent operator with a strong focus on personal, human customer service.

Additional Comments

Uptime Allies markets itself as a straight-talking alternative to the bigger providers, and that reputation seems to be backed up by its reviews, which regularly mention quick responses and engineers who actually listen to where you want equipment installed. The company avoids CGNAT, meaning customers get a proper static IP address rather than sharing one with a pool of other households, which can matter if you run a home server, need port forwarding, or just want a cleaner connection for gaming.

Because Uptime Allies doesn't build its own infrastructure, what you actually get depends heavily on which underlying network reaches your address. In areas covered by OFNL, a private fibre network often found on newer housing developments, customers get a symmetric gigabit connection with no copper involved. In other postcodes, the same broadband might arrive via FullFibre or Openreach instead, so it's worth checking which network you'd be connecting through before signing up.

The company also offers leased lines, bonded broadband, VoIP and basic IT support, making it a reasonable option for small businesses that want one point of contact rather than juggling several suppliers. Being a newer and smaller operator, its footprint isn't as wide as the national names, so availability checks are essential before getting your hopes up.

Uptime Allies (The Cent.re Group) Reviews

I've been with Uptime Allies (Via the FullFibre network) for over a year now. Install was easy and the engineer was happy to accommodate my requests for the location of things. Speeds are solid and I've never noticed any slowdowns. I've also not experienced any downtime that I've noticed. I've zero complaints. Never had cause to use their support aside for on day one when I needed a hand configuring the router (which they did not supply as I had my own) and they were more than happy to help get it up and running.
