Additional Comments

What Plusnet broadband does well is value for money and simplicity. Many users highlight that the setup is straightforward, the pricing at the start is competitive, and the support lines are based in the UK. Reviews usually point to a good value service and comments about fair pricing and staff who are easy to contact and happy to help when things go well.
With that said, there are some recurring complaints. Reliability scores for Plusnet broadband are lower than some of its competitors. Some reviewers note that while customer service is not bad, the reliability can be a bit weaker. Looking through customer comments online you will find examples of slow average speeds, connection dropouts and occasionally, unhelpful support when things do go wrong.

Another factor to check is what happens after your contract ends. Some users report price rises or less favourable renewal deals. If you are signing up, it is worth checking the terms for renewal and any speed guarantees.

Much of Plusnet’s fibre broadband uses the same networks as other major providers via BT and Openreach. That means the physical network is solid, but your actual experience may depend a lot on your local cabinet, wiring and router.

If you are considering Plusnet broadband you should ask yourself a few questions. Is your property eligible for the speed you need? Are you comfortable with the contract term and the likelihood of a price increase after the first term? Do you have a suitable Wi Fi setup in your home so that you get the speeds you pay for, not just what the line can support? When it works well, Plusnet broadband can be a good choice for everyday users, streaming, browsing, online work and casual gaming. It ticks the reliable box for many. But if you live in a large home, do a lot of heavy uploads or downloads or need ultra high performance with complete peace of mind, you may want to check what extras are needed such as a better router or mesh network, or compare other providers with higher reliability ratings.

Very helpful. Going all out to try and cure an on going line problem which BT never did.

Download speeds always less that promised. Connection drops out several times a day

It would be better if Plusnet would provide a full fibre-to-the-home service with genuine super-fast speeds. A maximum of 40 Mbps now is only fast, not super fast.

Over the year they are reliable and have decent customer service. But, when it is bad, it’s bad All day long sub par through out Mailbox size limited to 1 GB

I regulary help people out with their internet problems, so have lots of experience trying to get some sense out of other ISPs. To come home to Plusnet's support is like having a freindly conversation with someone who asks sensible questions and doesn't just read off a script. If they say they will sort something, it gets sorted. I can't praise them enough, and recommend them to anyone who is getting frustrated with their provider and wants to switch.

I am getting an average download speed of around 2.4 Mb/sec. It's been gradually getting slower over the course of 2 years. Admittedly i am in a rural location but why should I be paying the same as someone who receives excellent speeds in a different location? I intend to contact them soon to discuss the issue.

Still not provided the 10 Mb upload - they were supposed to have converted from 2Mb to 10Mb last November.

I used to get 76 mps, now I only get 60 mps.
