CityFibre full fibre network spotted in Northampton

The number of parts of the UK where the CityFibre FTTP service is live grows by another one as the first parts of Northampton have been found to be live.

The Hardingstone and Wootton areas of Northampton now have fibre to the premises available from the Vodafone Gigafast service that starts at £28/m for the 200 Mbps service currently. We expect as with other CityFibre cities that more areas of coverage will appear over the coming months. The starting point in Northampton does also overlap to some extent with the Openreach FTTP network.

With this latest bit of live network added to the other areas the live CityFibre FTTP footprint that we have been able to find is 197,418 premises in size.

Live to order yes, has been since middle of Feb, but no one as far as I know is live and active, first installs were due 1st April, a virus got in the way of that, and yes Openreach have been very busy installing FTTP in that entire area. Im just in the bottom right of that area where they havent turned on the order available on yet, cabinets and roadworks were done 1.5 months ago.

Really looking forward to this being available a bit further north of the town centre in Abington. My VM connection is just awful at the moment with terrible latency. I believe there is an outstanding fault within the area.

Family member has had their router arrive today, expecting an engineer to setup the connection on friday. Slightly jealous, but can't complain too much with BT FTTP... although paying more for less upload sucks.
