Offer takes Sky Superfast Broadband down to £25/m

Sky broadband remains fairly popular even though it often does not chase the lowest price points of some of its competitors, so when there is a lower price offer it is worth letting people know.

The Sky Superfast service with average download speeds of 59 Mbps is on offer £25/m for the 18 month contract term, rather than the usual £27/m and no setup fee. After the 18 month contract if you remain the standard price of £32/m will apply. Prices may change during the contract term.

The Sky Superfast service is based on two Openreach products the 80/20 and 40/10 VDSL2 variants, if the speed estimate for your telephone line is below 40 Mbps you will be connected using the 40/10 product. We mention this as the estimates are slightly conservative and some people who could potentially see connection speeds of 46 or 47 Mbps might see their connection speeds capped at 40 Mbps.

I got a letter promoting their broadband today for £29 per month. Why they’re pushing this version with the Wi-fi guarantee rather than the £25 option I don’t know.

£25 sounds like a good deal, whereas £29 is a bit much even if there’s some weird Wi-fi guarantee.

A very small number of Sky speed tests in Openreach FTTP areas, but usually new build homes where fibre is only option.

So probably existing customers moving or staff, i.e. not on general sale yet

have had sky provided super fast broadband thru NOWTV. gone back to Virgin as their wifi was awful. was good initially but fell off the cliff , unable to use even with a mesh extender. Virgin is ok at the moment.
