First parts of CityFibre/Vodafone full fibre network in Leeds mapped
A busy week for CityFibre with two new cities seeing a live FTTP footprint arrive, the latest is Leeds following on from Cambridge earlier in the week.
We knew from the amount of roadworks that CityFibre was busy building but we've grown used to seeing roadworks appear and nothing happen for a few months in some cases so tend to rely on seeing the first live speed test to trigger us to look for wider availability of the CityFibre/Vodafone Gigafast service. In this case the trigger was an ISPreview article saying the network had gone live in the Beeston and Hunslet area of Leeds.
The UK wide CityFibre FTTP footprint that is being sold under the Vodafone Gigafast umbrella now sits at 143,254 premises - if there are areas missing from our systems where people can order the Gigafast service we welcome people pointing us to a relevant postcode. Along with all the other full fibre providers combined and overlaps taken into account the UK full fibre premises passed footprint is sitting at 10.74% this morning or 3,245,184 premises if you don't like percentages (figure may rise slightly ahead of weekly local site update on Saturday, depending on what can be found on Friday).
