Problems for some with Sky broadband connectivity
Live analysis of the speed tests seen on our speed tester and others that are based around our service is suggesting that rather than a full on outage for Sky customers that there may be intermittent issues.
The volume of Sky broadband people speed testing is 40% higher than the full 24 hour period of Sunday and is also the busiest day of the last 60 days. This is based on analysis of tests at 11:45am on Monday 18th November.
For a broadband service making so many headlines about being down across the UK seeing a surge tells us that something is wrong, but it is not a total outage and in terms of the speeds seen the median download at 29.5 Mbps so far today and mean average of 31.5 Mbps are higher than usual. Higher than average speeds may in part be because we have not hit the busiest time of the day for consumer networks which is the evening, so we will update as the day progresses.
Update 6pm: Another 6 hours have passed and the median download has shifted slightly to 29.1 Mbps and a mean of 30.4 Mbps. The peak time monitoring will not kick in until 8pm so we will see if there is any sign of speed impacts later tonight.
