Half price full fibre for six months from Aquiss

Aquiss is running a special offer on its FTTP with telephone line rental services of half price for the first six months of the 12 month contract. The service is available in places where Openreach has rolled out its native FTTP service.

The entry level service based on a 40/2 FTTP product (average download speeds 35 Mbps) starts at £22.50/m, rising to the standard price of £45/m after the six month offer period and the fibre activation charge is £100. The mid-range 40/10 service is on offer at £23.50/m and the 80/20 service half price deal is £24.50/m. No router is supplied, i.e. the Openreach ONT is installed during activation but the choice of router is your own.

Why are so many FTTP connections not symmetrical? Is it just so they can charge you more if you need a faster upload speed?

I think I'll give that a miss for now.
