Five more exchanges with Gfast on our checker
The latest exchange areas with G.fast are Ipswich (21 - number of live pods), Knutsford (11), Shepshed (6), Stoke Golding (1) and Walthamstow (25).
These five additions take the G.fast footprint to 1,344,149 premises across the UK via some 4,725 pods.
To find out if you have access simply use our package search which will show the ultrafast products based on the Openreach G.fast service if your postcode is within range and connected to a live G.fast pod that we know about.
The full numbers are still being processed as we have added more Openreach FTTP in the last day or so but believe once all the processing is over we will have crossed over the 2 million Openreach Ultrafast broadband footprint once you combine G.fast and native FTTP.
Update 10th January 2018: The processing has completed and the Openreach ultrafast footprint has broken the two million premises barrier at 2,000,283, made up of 655,795 premises of FTTP and 1,344,488 premises with G.fast at 100 Mbps and faster speeds. The latest official Openreach figure for FTTP is 682,000 premises so clearly still some catching up to be done. The change in the last year has been the rolling out of both Fibre First and FTTP infill for those without superfast speeds from a VDSL2 cabinet. The FTTP infill is the one people tend to be most interested in as this will be people going from slow ASDL/ADSL2+ type speeds to future proof and our records have some 476 cabinets where there is a combination of FTTP and VDSL2 for some premises,
