Black Friday Deals used to be a big panic to spot but now at least in the broadband arena it seems the 2 or 3 day sales are being extended for a longer period. Today has Plusnet revealing the offers it has for the sale period though its Fibre Extra deal does still end just before Black Friday.

  • Up to 38 Mbps download, up to 9.5 Mbps upload Unlimited Fibre Broadband from £22.99 per month on an 18 month contract. No activation fee. For those outside the low cost area price is £30.49 per month. Offer ends 28th November
  • Up to 76 Mbps download, up to 19 Mbps upload Unlimited Fibre Extra Broadband from £29.99 per month, 18 month contract, £25 activation fee. Outside low cost areas price is £37.49 per month. Offer ends 21st November.
  • ADSL2+ Unlimited broadband from £18.99 per month, 18 month contract, £50 cashback and no activation fee. Outside low cost areas £26.49 per month. Offer ends 28th November.

During the order process additional savings are possible if you pick the 12 month line rental saver and pay 12 months line rental in advance.

Outside low cost area seems to me to be no bargain

As the outside low cost areas zone is also generally those where the LLU providers are not selling, the price is still competitive compared to BT Consumer Infinity pricing.

I've been watching plusnet's prices for a month or so because we've (finally!!) had a fibre cabinet installed. The price for 80/20 has been £29.99 every day I've looked, all with a little clock counting down with each deal expiring.

Now, along comes their "black friday" sale. How much? Oh yes, £29.99. Cut the crap plusnet, it's £29.99 for new customers. Stop the pretence of a perpetual "sale".
