Community Fibre secures £11m investment to make full fibre reach more people
After a week where the complaints about the state of broadband in some areas of London has been the focus for the press it is nice to see news of more investment in full fibre for the capital.
Community Fibre who serve a number of buildings in the City of Westminster and the Boroughs of Camden and Wandsworth has secured £11m of equity investment to deliver more Fibre to the Home (full fibre) and is looking to try and become the leading full fibre provider in the capital by 2020.
The footprint that we know about currently is shown above and they hope to quadruple the coverage to reach some 40,000 premises by the end of next year.
The funding has been raised by existing investors and a new institutional investor in the shape of RPMI Railpen who are the investment managers for the Railyways Pension Scheme.
