Registration for forthcoming Vodafone Connect broadband has started

Vodafone Connect looks to be the not so snappy name for the new Vodafone fixed line broadband service, and we presume it will cover both ADSL2+ and FTTC based services. Vodafone mobile customers have started to receive SMS alerts suggesting that people register for the new broadband service.

Alas there is no information on what the broadband service will actually provide, but it is likely to be another bundle operation with broadband and telephone wrapped together as Vodafone is asking about peoples existing broadband and landline services. We suspect that the launch will happen shortly after the new migration process that does not need a MAC (though the majority don't need one now).

Given the extent of competition that exists in the retail broadband area any Vodafone offers will have to very special if they are threaten the likes of Plusnet in terms of customer numbers (who are believed to have around 800,000 customers), let alone catch up to Sky and TalkTalk and Virgin Media.

Want to see how good Vodaphone will be as an ISP? Have a look at what they're doing to the Demon folk they acquired at the demon.service newsgroup.

See... Now this would be an interesting proposition, assuming that they will be running this via their C&W network which is in our local exchanges meaning it's a alternative to TalkTalk and Sky.

"Vodafone at Home"? You mean PlusNet?
Vodafone at Home was taken over by PlusNet... which is BT

I was going to wait for Vodafone before I got Plusnet, but things did not go as planned, but then I am now thinking of dropping their phone service, so maybe it was a good thing I did not wait.
