Broadband News

New bag of fortune cookies.

Well time to start the new bag that I bought at lunchtime today. Apparently a major reason for the variation in threshold levels on each exchange is to do with the available back-haul bandwidth, we'd presume this means that there are some exchanges that while already connected to the back haul bandwidth may require upgrades to cope with the extra bandwidth that DSL will generate.

BT Wholesale is going to be accepting historical demand data from ISPs which will allow some pre-loading of data onto the demand tracker. No news yet on what is happending to all the information that BT Wholesale have potentially previously collected from their checker.

One final interesting item is that the trigger levels arent of sufficient level in themselves for BT to payback the costs over a three year period, so even when an exchange gets to this level they are hoping for more demand to follow.
