NOW TV to make sports viewing cheaper

The NOW TV box and the availability of the app across a wide range of platforms means that it is proving a popular way of subscribing to Sky content without the usual contract commitments. In the past people have commented on how expensive the day passes are for sports, which at £9.99 for 24 hours viewing is not cheap, but cheaper than entrance to the events usually covered.

As of Thursday 14th August and just in time for the kick-off of the Premier League fixtures that start on Saturday 16th August is a new weekly sports pass for a limited time offer of £10.99 per week that will give access to 7 Sky Sports channels. The existing day pass will also be available at a reduced price of £6.99 for those that really only are interested in the one match or event.

The range of devices NOW TV operates on is extensive NOW TV Box, PC, Mac, iPad, iPhone, Android smartphones and tablets, Xbox 360, Xbox One, PS3, PS4, YouView, LG Smart TVs, selected LG media devices, Roku boxes and Apple TV but oddly the weekly Sports Passes will not work on the Apple TV platform.

The new Sports Pass pricing is a limited time offer and will be available until 27th November 2014 and will only be available via the NOW TV website. Money saving tip, check out the bundles of movies/entertainment passes with a NOW TV box, since the NOW TV box also makes for a handy catch-up TV player too. For those chasing a more discreet solution, there are small devices like the Roku Streaming stick that support NOW TV and over 500+ channels.

The price the pub pays for the rights to show it publically, will be factored into the price of the food/drink sold of course.

No news of official price post November in the release, and could easily change depending on market conditions.

Does anyone know if weekly passes purchased now have a shelf life/time limited, or can be held onto and used later in the year?

I know it depends on Itunes. I got a apple tv box with 3 months movies AND 5 day sports passes from ebay for £13 and it was new!

They are also on clearance in Tesco for £12 with 4 months entertainment.
