Omne calls in the Administrators
FT.com has an item indicating Omne, the great white hope for broadband in a lot of Scotland and North West England has called in the administrators. The problems appear to be that Omne are unable to raise the cash to continue with it's rollout of a new cable network, they currently have around 5000 customers.
Lets hope this valiant effort to introduce a service in an area that has often being overlooked by other providers doesn't dissappear and that the administrators can find a way to keep the company as a going concern.
From the figures of their fibre network passing 46,000 homes and acquiring 5000 customers in the short time they have had a service available suggests that there is interest in the area, just that more time is needed for word of mouth to improve the takeup.
