Plusnet reminds everyone there is another option for students
The student life these days may have improved beyond lentils and noodles particularly when a mobile phone and broadband will very near or at the top of the must haves for the start of a academic year. Plusnet has sent out a timely reminder that as well as their usual long contract offers, you can order their services with a simple one month rolling contract that carries just a 10 day notice period for the telephone and broadband.
Plusnet Unlimited broadband with Home Phone (including weekend calls) is available for £12.49 if you opt for the no contract deal when ordering. The other costs being £14.50/month for the telephone line rental, £5.99 delivery charge for the router, a £25 activation and a £49.99 charge if you need a new phone line at the property.
Plusnet Essentials broadband with Home Phone (including weekend calls) is cheaper at £8.49 per month but has a less student friendly usage allowance of 10GB per month and the setup fees and telephone line rental as with the unlimited service. Given that transgressing the usage limit costs £5 for 5GB, and it is charged in 5GB blocks then opting for the unlimited option would seem the sensible thing to do.
The Plusnet website can be a little confusing, as the no contract option is not immediately obvious, to see the pricing you need to start the ordering process for Essentials or Unlimited with Home Phone, and then expand the Contract slider and select the no contract option.
