The Cloud settling at 100 stations where Greater Anglia operate

While those travelling through Chelmsford station are the first to gain access to free WiFi via The Cloud, over the next few months something like 100 stations should gain the free WiFi service across the Greater Anglia franchise area.

"Since taking over the franchise in February we have been focusing our efforts on improving customer service. Offering our customers free WiFi is an important part of this as we recognise that the internet is a vital part of people’s everyday lives. We are seeing a huge number of passengers using mobile devices and wanted to provide them with a fast, reliable WiFi so they can work, shop or browse easily. Working with The Cloud, we’ll be able to achieve this and immediately make a positive impact on our customers’ journeys."

Greater Anglia’s customer service director Andrew Goodrum

The free service includes one hour of access per day, while Sky customers will benefit from unlimited access, though we doubt many people will sit on a drafty cold platform in East Anglia just for free Internet access.

I'm more thinking the East Anglia rail timetable. Even at Cambridge station there can be a fairly long wait at times.

Still no free wi-fi on their trains, though. Unless you pay for a First Class ticket. Why not??
