Sky+ catches up with BBC iPlayer

The integration of catch-up TV services into Sky+ HD box continues with BBC iPlayer now available on top of the other catch-up services and Sky's own film store.

This move is likely to further increase the use of BBC iPlayer, as the ability to stream BBC shows while using the same remote as people use to watch normal TV will make it easier to catch those shows you missed, or only discovered when people talked about them in the office the next day.

For those who have not already connected their Sky+ box to their broadband connection, the preferred method is an ethernet cable to your broadband router, and where this is not possible then devices like wireless adapters, HomePlugs or even your old TV aerial coax cabling can be used. Sky sell their own wireless adaptor for the Sky+ HD box at £21.95 and is configured via the Sky+ HD box setup pages.

Just tried Sky Anytime and guess what, BBC I Player isn't there.

Nothing here either but we are still on the old EPG layout as well. I have a Samsung HD box.

Set this up for the in-laws the other day. Had to reboot the box and sign up for on-demand online - did it via sky active on the box itself.

Only put out 31 october. Works fine although with limited content.

ITVPlayer is biggest concern for Scottish viewers. Because we get Scottish TV we cannot access ITV1. We cannot get STV HD either.
Very poor show from STV and Sky.

We have a Sky+ box - but no Ethernet connection on it, only a USB! I have an Ethernot port close to the TV/Sky+ but without the RJ45 on the box we're stymied. And no, I shan't be paying for an HD service just to get a new box that might have an RJ45.

As advised by timmo65 above, roll out is progressive through November and depends on which Sky box you have. Tough luck if you have a Thomson box though. They are not updating that one.
