Make others green with envy while stuck in London traffic this summer
London has seen WiFi popping up in train stations and now even parts of the underground network, Green Tomato Cars has highlighted that its fleet of 300 Super Prius cars all now offer free WiFi to travellers.
The fleet started offering WiFi back in 2010 it seems, but has increased the size of the fleet, they are now using the plug-in hybrid Prius that claims 35 miles on its electric charge.
If you see a Green Tomato whizzing past you, the WiFi cannot be grabbed as they use WPA/WPA2 encryption. Of course mobile WiFi hotspots are not uncommon in cars, with Audi, BMW, Citroen and Ford all offering it as an option, where a 3G broadband router is built into the car, just needing a suitable 3G sim.
