Gigabit fibre free if you are quick in the Bournemouth area
How does six months free fibre broadband sound? Well if you live in Bournemouth and specifically postcodes BH10 and BH11 and are in the first 250 households to apply then you may get a place on a six month free trial via Fibreband.
"We promised the residents and businesses of Bournemouth that we would complete the unfinished work from our predecessors, a commitment which we have kept. It's imperative to City Fibre that we manage this network responsibly. We are really pleased to be now moving onto the next stage and that our first service provider partner Fibreband are launching their services."Mark Collins, CCO at CityFibre
CityFibre passes some 24,000 homes in Bournemouth, and plans for further roll-out in 2012. The network is full fibre to the home, and offers symmetric speeds from 100 Mbps to 1000 Mbps (1 Gbps), with the 250 triallists getting access to the full service.
Hopefully like the original ADSL trials in 2000, the trial will be over subscribed, and with advertising on national TV for the various other superfast broadband services more prevalent, residents in Bournemouth may be more receptive to the idea of a fibre based service.
