Timico announce pricing for FTTC products

Timico have joined the small list of service providers to sell faster broadband using fibre to the cabinet (FTTC) technology deployed by BT. Services will be available from the 10th of May and start at £39 for 10GB usage and speeds up to 40 Mbps. An unlimited product that offers no usage caps comes in at a whopping £179 a month. This gives you download speeds up to 40Mbps with a minimum "best efforts" download speed of 12 Mbps and upload speeds of up to 10Mbps. This product also includes enhanced care on the line offering improved fault fixed times (although this only starts on June 1st) and an Ethernet router. All products are subject to a £75 connection charge. Availability of the service is limited to areas being enabled by BT, the latest batch of over 300 exchanges being announced at the end of March.

"Unlike many service providers Timico only provides broadband to business customers. We are focused on delivering a high quality network that is reliable, resilient and built to cope with high demand. This means that our customers will always receive the best data speeds that their line can achieve without being constrained by the limitations of the service provider's network. We have already received a number of enquiries from the general public and existing customers asking when Fibre Broadband will be available, making us very excited about adding it to our product portfolio. We are also able to provide a wide range of solutions designed to help businesses make the most of high speed, Fibre Broadband including hosted VoIP, SIP Trunks, co-location, VPN and private WAN solutions."

Trefor Davies, (Chief Technology Officer) Timico

This brings the handful of ISPs that have so far announced FTTC broadband offerings to AAISP, BT, Eclipse, and Timico.

Interesting. Our company lines are with Timico. Unfortunately whilst we are on an FTTC exchange - Bicester - we're in an outlying village so it's unlikely we'll be unbundled. Not beyond the bounds though - we're only a mile away from the centre at most and one of Gordon 'idiot' Brown's 'eco towns' is due to close the gap between us and the nearest housing estate.

Maybe I can get some of the pigs in the farm across the road to fly :D

I know this is business pricing but the pricing on the consumer products are expensive as well. At these prices take up will be low.

I choose my £10 unlimited product at 10Mb any day. And it's truly unlimited. I downloaded 200GB last month.

andruec dont worry, the worst off areas I reckon are commercial ones where leased lines are more likely and as such are a conflicting product.
