Orange tempts with Eee PC with embedded 3G modem
One of the problems with mobile broadband dongles is the fact that they 'dongle', and thus its easy to snag the little device and damage a USB port or break the dongle. To the rescue comes Orange with their Eee PC 901 with embedded 3G connectivity.
The Eee PC and a 3GB monthly data allowance is yours for £25 a month and should be available around mid-November in a choice of black or pink, and your allowance includes 100 text messages.
Earlier this week Orange published its third quarter results, which can be seen on the Orange press office site. The mobile side of the Orange UK business seems fairly upbeat with increasing use of mobile broadband, but its number of ADSL customers decreasing by 10% in the last 12 months to 1,023,000 customers. Across Europe Orange actually grew its ADSL broadband user base by 11.1% to 12.4 million customers. The continued focus is now on existing customers, and Orange are claiming that fault rates for their LLU network is now less than connections using BT Wholesale.
