IDNet launch home phone service
IDNet are the latest ISP to launch home telephone and broadband bundles with line rental from just £10 per month when included with a broadband package. The new services will allow a single bill to be sent out to customers that will cover both their broadband and telephone services.
IDNet have three options available, with a choice of 'Line Only' including only the line rental, Unlimited Evening, and Unlimited Evening & Weekend calls costing £10.99, £11.99 and £13.99 respectively. They can be purchased on their own or bundled with a broadband product and 'Line Only' is reduced to just £10 oer month when bundled. You can transfer your line from your existing provider for free, and new installs are charged at £110.
IDNet say there are no call setup charges which is different to most large telecom providers and per-second billing which will help reduce the cost to customers. They also have a call comparison wizard to help users work out how much they could save by switching.

the site isnt that clear - are they taking mainly 'unlimited phone calls' ??
they have unlimited email accounts, unlimited uploads, but limited downloads???
Dearer than Greenbee which is £29.99 for similar (5GB) but with free local & national calls at anytime.

Really??? How much does say a 5 second call cost then???? (you know the type you try to ring someone its a answerphone, you hang up)
broadband in particular ipstream broadband has seems to barely have any profit now as all the isps have been fighting a unsustainable price war which has led to consumers been very price sensitive so the only way to make money now is to branch out to voice services.

Yep, they're nice high-margin services aren't they ??
I rather to have anytime unlimited (local and nationwide) like eg: 24 hours/7 days a week/ 365 days a year.
