Tiscali expand TV content
Tiscali have followed in the footsteps of BT Vision, and signed a deal with Disney-ABC to air popular shows such as Lost, Desperate Housewives and Grey's Anatomy on their on-demand channel, C1. The service is open to Tiscali TV subscribers with the Entertainment Mix, which is available for £6 a month. A standard Tiscali TV subscription is available from £19.99 a month and includes an 8Mbps broadband connection as well as a phone call package.
"We're delighted to be adding to our already hugely diverse library of top quality drama and comedy with the some of the most watched and talked about US shows of recent years."
Jonathan Sykes (Managing Director, Content Strategy), Tiscali TV.
An ever expanding catalogue of content will be valuable, particularly with the market hotting up as more providers are looking to offer TV over broadband in the coming year.

hmm, let's see, acquire the episodes for free on DVD or USB stick or ... from a mate at school/work/pub/hairdresser's, a mate who knows how to spell "torrent", or sign up with Tiscali and pay for it.
Tricky decision that, just like it was with BT Vision. It has been tricky since (say) 2006 when the Beeb wrote (with specific reference to Lost) http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/6151118.stm

My god id sooner go with sky have a NON throttled to jiggery connection and more TV channels.... Tiscali really do live in lala land.
TV On-demand on Tiscali. So you decide you want to watch something, pay the £6 and wait 2 days for it to download. Sounds like normality restored.
Bet the CEO, executive board and senior staff are pretty well off though!
Tiscali TV actually works really well, VOD starts and reacts to controls instantly, plus only films and some 4OD stuff is PPV, the rest is subscription.
with tiscali not making a profit the last thing they should be doing is expansion.
