Tiscali UK adding roughly 250 connections a day

The rash of investor reports continue with tiscali being the latest. The results cover the whole gamut of Tiscali operations around Europe, and looking at the UK, Tiscali had over 2 million xDSL customers as of 30th September 2007.

Tiscali TV, which is the old HomeChoice service, had around 36,000 customers at the end of October 2007, which seems a bit lower than previous HomeChoice numbers in August 2006 that suggested around 45,000 customers. The net additions for xDSL connections to Tiscali is 638,000 since 1st January 2007, which we presume includes the various customers that Tiscali acquired with its purchase of the Pipex broadband and voice division.

The interest broadband providers are showing in IPTV is more obviously explained when you look at the ARPU (Average Revenue Per User) which stands at £40 a month for Tiscali TV customers. In terms of unbundling, Tiscali has some 800 exchanges with their own hardware installed, providing around 55% coverage.

Based on that and the rest of the story it would suggest some figure massaging has occured.
Then again its Tiscali, who cares.

Actually compared to other providers, Tiscali was faster and more reliable than my 16mb Sky connection and the customer service is FAR better than the drones at Orange.

My god gayboy you really do pick them, Sky, Tiscali and Orange, personally i wouldnt have the time of day to speak and communicate a problem to any of them (Tiscali have been investigated more times than a porn star has aids tests, Orange got voted worse supplier at one point and Sky my neighbour had who knows nothing about broadband, yet the support they got even they knew more than the operator, granted though they have supposedly improved lol
Its nice to hear that Tiscali have done a good job for atleast 1 customer though :)

Have been with Tiscali for 12 months, only problem has been the fiasco with out-going email 3 or 4 months ago. I do agree they would be much improved if their customer service reps. knew what they are talking about

I don't know what all the fuss is about, or perhaps I'm lucky. I have had no trouble with Tiscali since i joined, nearly 12 months ago, except for the same problem as Philip. The only adverse comment i can make is when i joined some Indian sounding person couldn't get my surname, so i ended up with something sounding something like it, but that's no bother
