ISPA launches 10th Annual UK Internet Awards

The Internet Services Providers' Association (ISPA UK) has today launched the 10th Annual UK Internet Industry Awards for 2008, commonly known as The ISPAs. The awards will be made up of the ISP division and the Special Awards division which include awards such as Internet Villain. Winners will be announced at the usual gala ceremony in London in February 2008.

In response to feedback, ISPA has introduced two new categories within the ISP division, namely Best Dedicated Hosting and Best Shared Hosting which replace Best Business Host and Best Consumer Host.

Service providers can enter the awards from now until 31st August to give time for performance testing by Epitiro and judging to take place. More information on www.ispaawards.org.uk.

Do customers get a say or is it the ISPs patting themselves on the back in total avoidance of their offerings?

Think customers should have a say too! The picture could be very different.

Looking at the Epitiro I believe, should that be hope, the claims by ISPs will be studied closely.

I should think the Epitiro efforts could be easier if all users (you and me) were allowed to offer their experience first via boards such as here on thinkbroadband.com. Epitiro could then probably ignore a good half (at the very least) of the claims made by ISPs *before* they start their study!
