Welsh Broadband Support Scheme reaches end of the road
After exceeding its original target of 1000 grants in the last couple of years, the Welsh Development Agency's Broadband Support Scheme is to stop accepting applications at the end of play on 28th February 2006. The scheme has handed out 1,223 grants to businesses and voluntary organisations. More details are over at PingWales.co.uk.
The scheme has handed out an average of around £700 to each successful applicant, with a maximum of £3000 being available. The scheme is still open to new applications for the next couple of weeks, for more information see the FAQ. The subsidies are technology neutral, so are an ideal way for a business considering any form of broadband but finding the initial up front charges too high.
