Another provider joins EasyNet LLUStream range
Only the other day we ran a news item highlighting an ISP offering ADSL2+ via the EasyNet LLU products. Today sees PlusNet joining the growing ranks of providers using the LLUStream based products from EasyNet.
PlusNet have said that they will be taking part in an ADSL2+ trial via EasyNet before Christmas 2005. This partnership with EasyNet will also allow PlusNet to now offer up to 8Mbps ADSL products on exchanges not taking part in the BT Wholesale Max DSL trials.
The pricing and SUP guidelines for the PlusNet 4Mbps and 8Mbps has already been published (see here). Of course these are always subject to change, since with a LLU product no BT Central capacity is used, which will drastically alter the pricing/usage model. No guidelines for the ADSL2+ product in terms of sustainable usage or pricing are available as yet, but are expected in the next few weeks.
2005 perhaps is going to be remembered as a year of very rapid change in the UK broadband marketplace. Not all the changes have proved popular with all customers, but the continued growth in the number of broadband customers across the UK suggests that overall, ISP's are delivering a product that is selling. 2006 is looking to be exciting, with a rapidly growing choice of products, offering also a vast range of speeds, with providers all trying to find their own little corner of the market.
