Zen provides link for Hospital Radio Perth
Broadband very often has the image of just being used for faster downloads and always-on email, but it can be used for much more. Zen Internet has sent out a press release announcing it has given free activation and a free years ADSL service to Hospital Radio Perth which serves up to 2,000 patients in two large hospitals. The ADSL service is to be used to stream audio data from the nearby Perth Concert Hall back to the radio station for broadcasting over the hospital radio network. The traditional radio links could not be used due to the construction method of the new concert halls roof.
Another big bonus for the radio station, is the ability to remotely control the stations output, making remote broadcasts from football grounds simpler, and for staff to ensure radio content is available 24 hours of the day.
