ASA has words with Wanadoo

The Advertising Standards Authority website has the details of an adjudication that has gone against Wanadoo, details here.

The dispute revolved around the Wanadoo use of "full speed" to suggest that the 0.5Mbps service was full speed compared to say 150 and 256kbps services. Certainly yes a 0.5Mbps has potential to be a lot faster, but as the ruling decided, 0.5Mbps is far from full speed in what is a changing market. 1Mbps looks set to become the standard speed for many people soon, and 2Mbps the premium home connection.

How providers market broadband is always worrying, so much is promised in the adverts. The problem is with the times when providers do not meet that promise.
