What was World IPv6 Day?

World IPv6 Day was a date in June 2011 when many major organisations offered their content via IPv6 for a 24-hour "test drive". The event, was organised by the Internet Society and saw many major websites such as Google, Yahoo!, Facebook, Akamai and Limelight Networks switch on IPv6. The aim of this was to try and motivate ISPs, hardware manufacturers and web companies to prepare their services for IPv6.

When was World IPv6 Day?

8th June 2011.

Will IPv6 work for me?

Run our IPv6 Readiness test to see if your connection is compatible with IPv6. If it is not, there isn't anything to worry about at the moment. Your broadband provider may still be working on making your service compatible.

Where can I find more information?
