Pipex launch new business packages

Pipex has enlarged its range of products with four new products aimed at the small and medium enterprise market.
- Pipex Lite: £14.50 per month, with 25GB allowance and up to 8Mbps ADSL connection.
- Pipex Pro: £19.50 per month, up to 16Mbps downloads via ADSL2+, up to 1Mbps uploads, unlimited usage allowance, prioritised traffic and enhanced care option.
- Premium: £32 per month, up to 16Mbps, unlimited usage allowance and an assured bandwidth of 200Kbps.
- Premium +: £49 per month, up to 16Mbps, unlimited usage allowance and an assured bandwidth of 500Kbps.
It should be pointed out that the residential Pipex Pro product is different to the business range Pipex Pro product. Also for those thinking that the Pipex Lite product looks a bargain for 25GB of usage, remember that business products are usually listed with VAT @ 17.5% excluded from the price.
The enhanced care option is one that not many broadband providers offer yet, but it provides for a 10 hour repair time if the broadband fails. If taking enhanced care it is recommended that you also take Total Care for the telephone service too. Assured bandwidth options have existed for a while on the standard BT Wholesale products, and may appeal to power consumers too.
The ADSL2+ speeds are only available at exchanges where Pipex has its own hardware and at other exchanges a standard ADSL connection will be offered, we presume with an upgrade as ADSL2+ rolls out on the BT Wholesale network.
All the products carry a choice of three month or twelve month contract, the difference is that on the shorter contract the WiFi router becomes an optional £34.03, rather than been bundled in for free.

This has to be a joke? Pipex Pro, prioritised traffic? Pipex Premium an assured rate of a measly 500Kbps?
As someone who has just left Pipex because of their ridiculous throttling of home users, how much bandwidth will the average home user now be allocated? Less than 150kbps would be my guess.

Yes they have recently bought them... As to making a bigger mess of Pipex, in theory that is impossible, but it has not stopped them trying and doing a good job at it.
I would imagine that 500KBps is the CIR, anything over that is pot luck depending on the utilisation of their core network. Remember you're not guaranteed anything with home broadband. You get what you pay for
So does this mean that my connection through the pipex servers I can receive an up to 16mb service? It does but they are not offering it to residential users. What a bunch of creeps in marketing at Pipex
^^^ probably because they dont want complaints from 500,000 users all complaining its dead slow like they currently do with MAX and other 8Mb products.
tiscali OFFERS A PRODUCT CALLED PIPEX and this should be made clear to new customers, who may not be aware of tiscalis poor reputation for product and customer service. Pipex is a name used by tiscali, to hide the appalling track record, of these serial LIARS. (Buyer beware)

LOL i imagine some reading have shares in Tiscali so they wont be happy with you lol Some reading certainly had shares in Pipex.

I agree. Heaven forbid anyone get Tiscali's dreadful reputation confused with the one Pipex have already earned over the past few years.
