Unfortunately not a very good start to a New Year. Liberty Broadband is shedding a dozen jobs according to The Register.
The liquidators are keeping the company running and supporting existing customers. Apparently a couple of buyers are looking at the company, fingers crossed a buyer will be found and the business can expand and increase its footprint across the UK.
Liberty was previously known as Tele2 and runs a network of wireless broadband transmitters. Many people view wireless networks as a cheap way of providing broadband Internet access to the less densely populated parts of the UK. In many parts of the UK wireless access methods are likely to be the only economically viable solution.
