BT Wholesale have informed us that Merthyr Tydfil is very close to its required numbers of Advance Orders, and an extension to the standard six week period has been granted. The extension is for another week and should give ISPs time to collect the remaining few orders needed
Wrexham North does not get such a nice reception, after investigations a number of the registrations have been found to be false. The exchange will return to collecting registrations with a starting point of 207 registrations, and the same target of 400 registrations.
The mixed performance of the demand registration system shows the importance of a well-organised and informed local campaign to educate the people in the area to both the benefits of upgrading to broadband, and equally to not employ underhand tactics to rush their area to the front of the queue.
