Could you give up broadband?
Wednesday 22 June 2016 13:45:35 by Sebastien Lahtinen

We polled over 1,000 users to ask if they had to cut back on one household bill, what would they pick? The results are quite interesting, showing most people (at least of those visiting thinkbroadband) would prefer to put entertainment first with most preferring to cut back on gym membership.

If you had to cut back on one of the following, which would it be?

Gym membership46%
Eating out21%
Television17%
Turn the heating down7%
Broadband5%
Mobile phone5%

Only mobile phones (by a margin of a few votes) were more important than broadband. Of course there are plenty of free forms of exercise, as there are wi-fi hotspots.

You probably have some significant sample bias here, I'd imagine visitors here care far more about broadband than average ;)

I'd imagine "Gym Reviews.com" would have significantly different results!!

@rtho782: We accept that - we did stress it's of our users ;) - would be interesting if "gym reviews" was to run the same poll!

I can't help but wonder how many of those choosing to give up gym membership belong to a gym. It's so much easier to give up what one doesn't already have or perhaps even want.

Um, if you don't have it, you cannot give it up!!! LOLOL :)

The problem is, everyone & the govt are pushing you to BB...

The only people I know that don't have BB is hard workers, who spend most of their leisure time watching football at home or in the pub!
and then there are those who simply cannot afford it, all money is spent to eat and pay bills.. :(
