300 Mbps option for small business on Virgin Media network
Tuesday 20 October 2015 14:08:11 by Andrew Ferguson

The BroadbandWorldForum is running for three days at the London ExCel exhibition centre and Virgin Media has used the event to announce the availability of a 300 Mbps service over its hybrid fibre/coax network but only for small business customers.

This will dissapoint some in the consumer sector who were waiting for another round of upgrades to 300 Mbps, but with the expectation of a FoD2 product from Openreach with a lower initial set-up cost in the next few months by announcing now Virgin Media remains on top of the speed competition from the incumbent.

I suspect that VM will extend this out to residential users within 12 months.
