Oftel release their July Internet brief

Oftel have released the latest set of figures, which make exciting reading as usual.

From the document, you can see that Cable broadband is overtaking ADSL takeup in the UK, 419,000 versus 280,000 users repsectively. Coverage wise - Telewest makes broadband cable available to 95% of its customers, with NTL trailing at 56% and BT managing to cover around 66% (15 million homes).

Pricing wise Oftel has updated its data to allow for the April 2002 ADSL price cut, currently this puts UK residential broadband at £26 versus £27 for the USA, with Sweden the place to live at just £21/month.
