BT Infinity 2 increases in price for new customers
Thursday 25 June 2015 11:15:48 by Andrew Ferguson

When updating the BT retail listings we spotted that in addition to the more normal variation in offer pricing and incentives for new customers ordering BT Infinity 2 (up to 76 Mbps) the standard price has risen from £28 per month to £30 per month.

After previous price rises from TalkTalk and product changes at PlusNet we are wondering if the complaints over the annual increase of voice line rental have being heard and that the broadband products themselves are more the focus of the price rises now.

With the new simpler migration rules starting this week, we had expected there to be a flurry of competition to tempt people, but it looks very much like business as usual at the majority of providers.

Still a nightmare for customers to compare total prices without spending hours. Call connection fees often not included in price comparisons only one confusing factor among many

Do you know if the underlying BTW prices have been increased? If so it is possible that this was the trigger that caused PlusNet to drop their 40/20 product given that they used BTW's 80/20 product (76/18.5 for the purists).

Not aware of any Openreach or BT Wholesale price changes that would affect this.

We complain that line rentals are overpriced to subsidise broadband so they increase broadband prices (and keep line rental sky high), very BT :X

May be more to do with European Cup football. Must admit I have renewed at £39 per month all in ( line, Anytime Calls,ADSL2 broadband and TV). Time will tell if there will be speed problems at prime time.
