ISPA announce 2015 ISPA Awards shortlists
Tuesday 05 May 2015 18:53:01 by Andrew Ferguson

It is that time of year again when ISPA announce the shortlists for the ISPA Awards and those firms who have entered find out whether they have been nominated and can start the nail biting until the actual winners are announced on the 2nd July at the Brewery in the City of London.

The annual ISPA Awards is one of the few to actually include technical testing, thus helping to ensure that no matter how good the entry writer is the service will have to do what it says on the tin and pass muster amongst its peers in the tested categories.

"Congratulations to all those shortlisted for the 2015 ISPAs. With ISPA celebrating its twentieth anniversary, the long running ISPA Awards continues to reward those who help connect consumers and businesses and underpin our economy and society. These awards are the most rigorous and independent in the sector, with millions of tests carried out and direct input from customers. I look forward to the unveiling of the winners in July."

ISPA Secretary General Nick Lansman

The judging panel will meet a few weeks ahead of the awards to cogitate over who should win in the announced categories after having previously read through all the entrants written submissions. The exceptions are the Customer Choice Award where customers have already had two months to vote and voting in that category is now closed, the Internet Villain and Hero Awards usually open for nomination shortly, with the ISPA Council deciding who gets the trophies in these final two categories.

The broadband and hosting categories were tested by thinkbroadband over the period of 23rd February to 23rd May 2015, with Malden Electronics testing the entrants in the VoIP category.

Surprised Quickline is not up there as they are doing a grand job in North Lincolnshire putting up Wimax wireless masts on village churches and masts all over the place and loads of positive comments about them.

Have Zen not entered, to give someone else a chance? Or was the entry qualification meddled with to stop them?
They seem to win everything else, including 11 consecutive years as best ISP from PC Pro and covering everything from consumer level (Which?) to specialist communications industry awards like Comms National, so I can't see any other ways in which they wouldn't be on these lists.
