Monday 09 March 2015 11:20:26 by Andrew Ferguson

Hyperoptic is the well known Gigabit broadband provider with an ever expanding portfolio of apartments and business locations across various UK cities and has just revamped its website and broadband products. The new residential offers are:

  • 100 Mbps download and 100 Mbps upload fibre broadband and phone, £9/month for 6 months, then £22 per month. 12 month contract. Voice line rental at £16 per month applies with inclusive evening and weekend calls. Free connection.
  • 1 Gbps download and 1 Gbps upload fibre broadband and phone, £22/month for 6 months, then £47 per month. 12 month contract. Voice line rental at £16 per month applies with inclusive evening and weekend calls. Free connection.
  • 100 Mbps download and 100 Mbps upload fibre broadband, £17/month for 6 months, then £35 per month. 12 month contract £40 connection fee.
  • 1 Gbps download and 1 Gbps upload fibre broadband, £29/month for 6 months, then £60 per month. 12 month contract. £40 connection fee.

In addition the pricing of the three main business options are in our listings, while the £300 setup fee may put some small businesses off, remember that if your city is part of the SuperConnected Cities voucher scheme this connection fee will be offset by the voucher.

The phone and broadband packages have seen the largest change, since voice line rental has risen from £12.50 per month to £16/month, though this has largely been offset by lower broadband pricing and the savings in the first six months.

BT Openreach should complaint about this statement to ASA that read out

"Copper is limited to a maximum of 76Mb for downloads. But the further your home is from the exchange, the lower this drops.

With Hyperoptic, there's no limit to what you can do."

It's not from the exchange! It's from the street cabinet to the property!

Hyperoptic - u are in trouble now!

It says "Copper", not "Fibre,(to the cabinet) and copper".

There is no copper between exchange to the street cabinet anymore. Only from the street cabinet to the property are still in copper!

£16 for a VOIP line seems quite a lot! I was hoping for something a tad more radical than a price rise.
