EE now offering 2GB allowance SIM only deal for £15.99 per month
Monday 09 March 2015 09:56:04 by Andrew Ferguson

While 4G data plans are generally still a long way from matching the usage limits on fixed line broadband where unlimited is king, the increase from a 1GB to a 2GB allowance on the EE SIM only plans is at least a small step in the right direction.

  • £9.99 per month, 0.25GB of data, 250 minutes of calls and unlimited texts
  • £12.99 per month, 0.5GB of data, 500 minutes of calls and unlimited texts
  • £15.99 per month, 2GB of data, unlimited minutes and texts. Previously a 1GB allowance
  • £21.99 per month, 3GB of data, unlimited minutes and texts
  • £27.99 per month, 5GB of data, unlimited minutes and texts

All the above options are 12 month contracts. If you are already an EE, Orange or T-Mobile customer and signing up for a new SIM for a second line then the price is reduced by another £3 per month.

Of course if using 3G/4G as your primary connection then you need to also factor in the savings from now needing to pay voice line rental, which is a saving £11 to £16.99 per month.

If using 3G/4G as your primary connection you would be mad to use a voice SIM. A Data SIM is better value see here: http://shop.ee.co.uk/mobile-tariffs/sim-only-data-plans

Click 30 days, and you can have 3GB for £15 or 25GB for £30.

Data SIM mean u cannot text or making any calls. Pointless!

Those are SIM only plans for handsets which include calls and texts.

Those SIM only plans are 12 month contracts, not 24 though.

EE have put the prices up on the plans though

A few weeks ago I got the 5GB data for £21.99, as such they've increased the costs of data (12 month contract)

adslmax - Data SIM is for tablets or MiFi devices, or for those who use 4G routers to get any broadband. Not for phones.

PWilkin - the price you (and I) got was a discount; which has ended, and the prices went back to the old. I got 10GB of data for £27, and now its only 5GB. I see there are hopes EE will refresh price plans this month or april.

12 month contracts, not 24. Article needs correcting.
