The Post Office is the latest telecom retailer to announce price changes that will kick in on 5th January. This time the voice line rental service is going up £2 a month from £13 to £15, but this is balanced neatly by a reduction of its Essential broadband service to £5/month and the Premium service to £8/month.
This cost neutral change means those taking the bundles are not affected, but the Post Office was a popular short contract option for standalone voice lines, with the popularity of its cheap voice line rental explaining the shift in pricing. NOTE: If you take just a voice product from the Post Office it is delivered via WLR (Wholesale Line Rental), but if broadband and phone product is ordered it is delivered using the TalkTalk Full LLU Wholesale platform.
Zen Internet announced a change to its voice line rental services a short while ago that will take effect on 1st December, the basic line rental product Zen Home Talk will increase from £11.22 a month to £12.30 and the 1 month minimum term contract remains, making it one of the cheapest line rental options. For those taking a voice and fibre bundle from Zen, the Zen Line Rental will rise from £15.98 to £16.99.
