The next four lucky cities that will benefit from the Hyperoptic treatment are Newcastle, Sheffield, Birmingham and Nottingham, this expansion has been announced at the same time as the news that Hyperoptic coverage has doubled in the last six months and the number of premises able to order a Hyperoptic service will very soon break the 75,000 mark across 480 different sites.
"Broadband has become a key consideration that affects where people choose to live, alongside being close to friends, family and good transport links. It forms the foundation of the connected home. By partnering with Hyperoptic we can be guaranteed that our residents have a seamless broadband experience today, and that the connection is future-proofed for the next era of technology.Paul McFadyen, Director, Regis Group plc
Hyperoptic offers three main speeds, an entry level 20 Mbps download (1 Mbps upload) service, a 100 Mbps symmetric product, through to a full symmetric Gigabit service and is thus building truly ultra-fast islands of connectivity in the cities where it is offering a service. Not every development will fit the various criteria for a successful commercial deployment, the information that the operator is happy to now deploy in developments as small as 50 units compared to the previous 80 means that more choice may open up.
